This site describes mathematical concepts and gives examples and problems as well as other resources. It also has crossword puzzles, word searches and challenge exercises.

The purpose of this sites is to add a reading and writing component to math classes. It has a wealth of interesting fact and topics relating to math and has exciting connections to history and art. It is hard to break away from this one.

This is a fabulous site to visit. It is interactive web site that uses pattern blocks. Younger students can learn about shapes, while older students can experiment with area, perimeter and polygonal relationships. This is a great site because the number of problem solving activities that can be created by the teacher to meet their classroom needs are enormous.

Topics at this site center around the concepts of shape and space in geometry. It includes a lot of background information, theories and games. This is a good site for early geometric concepts leading to perimeter and area. Interesting point made at this site:  Since many people think well visually, the visual nature of geometry can allow it to become a doorway to their success in math.

There are a variety of interactive activities at this location ranging from probability to factorials to functions. There is a helpful index that lists the topics. It can be hard to break yourself away from this site. Check out the section on squaring the triangle. It explains how the Pythagorean theorem works.
