One-to-One Tutoring
 

Potomac Tutors provides one-to-one tutoring to students on both a repeating and stand alone basis. Regardless of type, each appointment is 60 minutes in length.

Weekly appointments are encouraged because they provide the best opportunity for the student and tutor to develop a working relationship that caters to the student's particular needs. Weekly appointments also provide a dedicated time for the student to review their work and improve their understanding throughout the learning process rather than just before tests. This is a month by month commitment.

As needed tutoring appointments are also offered. These stand alone appointments are booked on a first come, first serve basis and are intended to assist students with understanding of specific concept or content area within a subject. We recommend reserving such appointments as early as possible; however, there may be rare occasions when same-day appointments are available.

Our goal at Potomac Tutors is to provide assistance with both subject mastery and independent learning skills. It is our objective to have students use what they learn at Potomac Tutors throughout their academic careers and beyond.

We have an excellent tutoring staff.  Potomac Tutors only hires tutors whom they feel will be competent and confident in their tutoring.  Most of our staff have extensive tutoring experience and all of our staff works well with students.  We do our best to provide each student with a tutor who will be able to meet their particular needs.  In all cases, we schedule each student's visit with the same tutor to maintain consistency.
